The italian power system: opportunities and new scenarios

A change of direction in energy and global climate trends as well as a reflection on concerning risks and opportunities appear necessary and urgent. 1.3 billion people, almost 20% of the global population, lack access to electricity. It is an unacceptably high number.

It thus becomes imperative to combine fair access to energy, diversification of supplies for a greater energy security and a wide use of sources with low environmental impact. Governments’ role will be crucial in shaping our energy future, through the definition of objectives and the implementation of policies necessary to achieve them.

How Italy positions itself in the global scenario? What policies can the country pursue while maximising benefits? What guidance can operators and the industry provide? What is the best energy mix for the competitiveness and the effective exploitation of national resources?

The Congress will address these and further issues, with the aim to promote a debate between businesses and institutions, in a meeting of crucial importance for the competitiveness of the Italian system.
